I recently gave a Mellon Humanities talk, “The Liberal Arts during the Meta-crisis.” The talk is also available in the form of a text on Medium.
I include the talk/text here because I think it gives a larger context for my critique of Total Work. Contemplating the section on “surrogate conceptions of the good life” may prove to be illuminating and clarifying.
